Enviro News Asia, Jakarta — A total of 35 leading American companies, represented under the U.S.–ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC), conducted a business mission to Jakarta from October 15–17, 2025.
The visit marked a strategic step to expand economic cooperation between the United States and Indonesia, while reinforcing the U.S. private sector’s commitment to supporting Indonesia’s national economic growth.
The US-ABC delegation was led by Ambassador Brian McFeeters, Interim President and CEO of US-ABC, alongside Ambassador Ted Osius, Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director of US-ABC.
The mission was facilitated by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Washington, D.C. (KBRI Washington D.C.), and involved 18 Indonesian government ministries and agencies, as well as key national stakeholders.
During their stay in Jakarta, company representatives held a series of meetings with several ministers of the Indonesia Maju Cabinet, including the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs, Minister of Trade, Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Chairman of the National Economic Council, Chairman of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Vice Minister of Transportation, as well as the Governor of Jakarta and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN Indonesia).
Throughout the forum, US-ABC member companies presented their strategic business agendas, highlighting ongoing achievements and expansion plans, while addressing operational and regulatory challenges in the field.
The meetings also served as a platform for open dialogue, exchange of perspectives, and formulation of concrete steps to strengthen mutually beneficial bilateral economic relations.
The U.S. delegation reaffirmed its strong commitment to supporting Indonesia’s agenda for inclusive and sustainable economic development. Collaboration focus areas included energy, financial services, logistics, transportation, agriculture, mining, and information technology.
The Indonesian Embassy in Washington, D.C. played an active role in ensuring the success of this mission through diplomatic facilitation and coordination of strategic meetings between the U.S. business delegation and Indonesian ministries and agencies.
The event also formed part of US-ABC’s annual agenda, which consistently promotes greater investment and trade ties between Indonesia and the United States.
The Embassy emphasized that continued collaboration with US-ABC will be further strengthened through future investment missions aimed at expanding economic opportunities and deepening bilateral relations between the two nations. (*)
