Deputy Attorney General Encourages UPNVJ Students to Enhance Legal Awareness for Golden Indonesia 2045

Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – The Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes at the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Asep N. Mulyana, emphasized that legal awareness among university students is key to realizing the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045.

He delivered this statement while serving as a keynote speaker at the Student Orientation Program (PKKMB) of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) at the Senayan Indoor Tennis Stadium, Monday (11 August 2025).

In his presentation, Prof. Asep stated that the role of students as agents of change is highly important, particularly in fostering a culture of law-abiding behavior.

He acknowledged that legal awareness among today’s younger generation tends to be lower compared to several years ago.

However, he expressed optimism that UPNVJ students can serve as positive examples in society.

“Golden Indonesia 2045 is in our hands,” said Prof. Asep. He expressed hope that students would not only understand legal rules but also apply them in their daily lives.

In facing the digital era, Prof. Asep reminded students to use technology wisely and maintain their digital footprint.

“Technology is like a double-edged sword. With two fingers, we can create benefits, but we can also create problems if we are not careful,” he said.

He also stressed the importance of integrity and instilling the values of national defense from the early years of university.

According to him, these values must be passed down consistently through the exemplary conduct of seniors, lecturers, and campus leaders.

“We, including the Rector and Vice Rectors, must serve as role models so that ancestral values and love for the homeland can be passed down properly,” he explained.

Prof. Asep is confident that with a combination of legal awareness, digital literacy, and a strong sense of responsibility, UPNVJ students can become a generation of integrity and play an active role in building the nation’s future. (www.upnvj.ac.id)
