Enviro News Asia, Jakarta — Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta held a ceremony to commemorate National Education Day (Hardiknas) 2026 at its Pondok Labu campus, bringing together around 200 participants, including lecturers, administrative staff, and students. The event served as a platform to reinforce the university’s commitment to delivering inclusive, high-quality, and future-oriented higher education.
The ceremony was led by Vice Rector for Planning, Finance, and General Affairs Netti Herawati, who acted as the officiating leader and delivered the official message from Indonesia’s Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology. The address emphasized that education remains the cornerstone of civilization and a key driver in shaping the nation’s future amid global challenges such as digital disruption, climate change, social inequality, and the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence.
This year’s commemoration carries the theme “Strengthening Collective Participation to Achieve Quality Education for All,” highlighting the importance of collaboration among universities, government, industry, communities, and the broader academic ecosystem in advancing education.
The message outlined three strategic priorities: expanding inclusive access to education, strengthening cross-sector collaboration to address development needs, and advancing research that not only excels academically but also delivers tangible societal impact.
The government also reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing world-class scientists through initiatives such as the Indonesia Road to Nobel Laureate 2045 program, which aims to strengthen the national ecosystem of higher education, science, and technology in preparation for Indonesia’s centennial vision.
At UPNVJ, the Hardiknas ceremony served not only as a formal observance but also as a moment of reflection for the academic community to strengthen the university’s role in advancing national education. The flag-raising ceremony and the singing of the National Education Day anthem further reinforced a sense of patriotism and collective purpose among participants.
Through this occasion, UPNVJ reaffirmed its commitment to delivering impactful, inclusive, and high-quality education for all. (www.upnvj.ac.id)
