UPNVJ FEB Team Wins First Runner-Up at 2026 JACSEN National Accounting Olympiad

Enviro News Asia, Jakarta — Students from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta once again earned national recognition through their participation in the 2026 Jambi Accounting Competition and Seminar National (JACSEN) 2026. In the competition organized by the Accounting Student Association of the Faculty of Economics and Business at University of Jambi, the team “Mamah Aku Juara” secured the First Runner-Up position in the National Accounting Olympiad category.

The competition, which concluded with the final round on May 9, 2026, carried the theme “Next-Gen Digital Accounting Excellence for a Sustainable Indonesian Economy.” The event highlighted the importance of preparing future accounting professionals to face digital transformation in support of sustainable economic development in Indonesia.

The “Mamah Aku Juara” team consisted of three undergraduate Accounting students from FEB UPNVJ Class of 2023: Syihab Rifqi Hadzami, Muhammad Iqbal Maulana, and Faradita Agustina Anggraini. The team successfully advanced through several competitive stages that tested academic competence, analytical thinking, and teamwork.

During the elimination round, participants were challenged with multiple-choice questions that emphasized speed and analytical accuracy. The FEB UPNVJ team achieved second place and advanced to the semifinal round.

The semifinal stage, conducted online on March 7, 2026, required participants to answer essay-based questions designed to evaluate conceptual understanding and analytical abilities. The team secured fourth place, earning qualification for the final round.

In the final stage, the competition became increasingly challenging as finalists were tasked with solving accounting case studies and presenting strategic solutions before a panel of judges. Communication skills, decision-making abilities, and team collaboration became key assessment criteria during this stage.

One of the team members, Syihab Rifqi Hadzami, stated that the achievement was the result of intensive preparation and strong collaboration among team members throughout the competition process.

“We are truly grateful to have achieved First Runner-Up in JACSEN 2026. This competition provided us with valuable experience, particularly in developing critical thinking and teamwork skills. We believe this achievement would not have been possible without consistent preparation and the support of our lecturers, faculty, and fellow students at FEB UPNVJ,” he said.

JACSEN not only serves as an academic competition platform but also functions as a forum for students to strengthen their competencies in accounting, auditing, management, and contemporary financial issues. The competition encourages participants to develop critical, analytical, and strategic thinking skills in responding to the evolving demands of the professional world.

The achievement of the “Mamah Aku Juara” team reflects the ability of FEB UPNVJ students to compete successfully at the national level through academic excellence and strong collaboration.

Rector of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta, Anter Venus, emphasized that students’ achievements in national competitions demonstrate the university’s commitment to producing graduates who are excellent, adaptive, and capable of responding to the challenges of the digital transformation era.

According to him, the accomplishment also reflects the successful synergy between students, lecturers, and the academic environment in fostering a productive and competitive academic culture. He expressed hope that the achievement would inspire more students to continue developing their potential and actively contribute to both academic and professional fields. (www.upnvj.ac.id)
