APP Group Expands International Trade Partnerships at TEI 2026 to Support Indonesia’s Export Growth

Enviro News Asia, Tangerang — APP Group is strengthening its contribution to Indonesia’s national export growth through international trade agreements at Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026, held at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) in BSD City, Tangerang. The agreements cover markets in Japan, Italy, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Organized by Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade, the 41st edition of Trade Expo Indonesia carries the theme “The Ultimate Hub for Global Sourcing.” The international trade exhibition serves as a strategic government platform to expand export market access, enhance the competitiveness of Indonesian products and strengthen the country’s trade relations with international partners.

Trade Minister Budi Santoso said the government continues to expand export markets amid challenges in global trade. These efforts form part of three priority programs introduced by the Ministry of Trade to stimulate economic growth and improve access for Indonesian products to international markets.

“The government has undertaken and continues to undertake various efforts to stimulate economic growth. To support these efforts, the Ministry of Trade has three main program priorities: safeguarding the domestic market, expanding export markets, and taking local products to global markets,” Santoso said.

“Expanding export markets involves opening access to new export destinations in various countries, including through trade agreements,” he added.

During the exhibition, APP Group recorded five memorandums of understanding (MoUs) through four of its business units: PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk, PT Pindo Deli Pulp and Paper Mills, PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk, and PT OKI Pulp & Paper Mills. The agreements involved APP Group’s overseas trading network and several international buyers.

In addition to strengthening international trade partnerships, APP Group used TEI 2026 to showcase a range of products for export markets, including paper, packaging and tissue products. Its participation provided an opportunity to highlight the diversity of Indonesia’s paper industry and explore further business opportunities with prospective international buyers.

APP Group products are currently exported to more than 150 countries worldwide. This extensive market reach reflects the Indonesian paper industry’s capacity to meet diverse international demand in terms of product quality, innovation and supply capacity.

“These trade agreements reflect international markets’ confidence in the quality and competitiveness of Indonesian paper products. With a market presence spanning more than 150 countries, we are working to support the government’s efforts to expand market access and strengthen Indonesia’s position in global supply chains,” said APP Group Director Suhendra Wiriadinata.

Suhendra said export market development must be accompanied by improvements in product quality, innovation and operational efficiency, as well as the implementation of responsible business practices to maintain the long-term competitiveness of the national industry.

“Through our Sustainability Roadmap Vision 2030 and various ongoing sustainability initiatives, we are working to integrate environmental, social and governance considerations into our operations. We believe sustainability and innovation are essential foundations for maintaining international market confidence while supporting the sustainable growth of Indonesia’s exports,” he added.

APP Group’s participation in TEI 2026 forms part of its ongoing efforts to expand international trade opportunities while contributing to the competitiveness of Indonesia’s paper industry and the growth of national exports. (*)
