Enviro News Asia, New York — Climate Week NYC 2025 officially took place on September 21–28, 2025, in New York, making it one of the largest climate events in the world with more than 900 activities across the city. This annual event brought together world leaders, multinational corporations, international organizations, and civil society communities to advance tangible solutions in addressing the global climate crisis.
With the theme “Power On,” this year’s Climate Week highlighted the acceleration of renewable energy transitions, the development of green infrastructure, and the integration of cross-sector climate solutions. The event also served as an important platform for various stakeholders to announce new initiatives, investment commitments, and cross-industry collaborations.
Several significant agreements were announced in the early days of the forum, including Johnson & Johnson Foundation donating USD 1 million to support healthcare workers in responding to climate disasters. Levi Strauss & Co., in collaboration with Schneider Electric, committed to expanding renewable energy access across global supply chains, starting in India.
Meanwhile, Microsoft invested in the construction of Fortera’s low-carbon cement plant as part of its strategy to achieve carbon-negative targets by 2030. Mastercard launched a fintech startup program focused on the circular economy to strengthen sustainable consumption.
The event reaffirmed New York Climate Week 2025 as a key barometer of global commitment to sustainability. Amid the rising impacts of climate change—from natural disasters to energy security challenges—this gathering has become a critical forum to promote large-scale collaborative action.
“Climate Week NYC is not just a conference, but a space for real action where ideas, innovation, and investment converge to accelerate the transition toward the world’s green economy,” said Helen Clarkson, CEO of The Climate Group, the event organizer. (*)
