Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – The Finance Minister of the Republic of Indonesia, Sri Mulyani, met with Manuela V. Ferro, Regional Vice President for East Asia and the Pacific. The meeting took place during the 2025 IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings held in Washington D.C., United States.
In her official statement, the Finance Minister said that discussions with Manuela continued to revolve around the complexities of the global economic situation. According to her, the various risks and uncertainties require a more pragmatic policy approach and the ability to identify opportunities amidst the challenges.
Furthermore, the Finance Minister expressed that Indonesia sees an opportunity to pursue critical structural reforms, especially in improving the efficiency of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and enhancing the business climate. Addressing trade barriers and improving the efficiency of the domestic financial sector are key issues that must be tackled collaboratively.
“We hope that @worldbank can continue to be an open and neutral development partner in supporting the Indonesian government’s programs,” she stated, as quoted from her Instagram account @smindrawati on Sunday (April 27).
