Enviro News Asia, Bima – Vice Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, Sulaiman Umar, arrived in Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara Province, on Tuesday (July 22, 2025) to greet and encourage 160 Civil Servant Investigators (PPNS) and Forestry Police (Polhut) personnel who are participating in the Technical Guidance on Forestry Intelligence Operations.
This technical guidance session is part of a series of coordination meetings held by the Directorate General of Forestry Law Enforcement from July 21–24, 2025, in Bima, West Nusa Tenggara.
In his remarks, the Vice Minister emphasized the vital role of forestry intelligence within the criminal justice system in the forestry sector.
Forestry intelligence, he said, serves as the spearhead in preemptive and preventive efforts against various forestry crimes.
“The competence and professionalism of all of you as forestry intelligence officers are greatly needed. You are the front line in preserving our forests, and your work is as important and honorable as that of any other personnel within the forestry sector,” said Sulaiman Umar.
The technical guidance is conducted both in person and online, involving personnel from various regions across Indonesia.
The event was also attended by the Regent of Bima, the Bima Police Chief, officials from the Directorate General of Forestry Law Enforcement, and representatives from the Technical Implementation Units (UPT) of the Ministry of Forestry in West Nusa Tenggara. (*)
