Enviro News Asia, Jakarta — PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk (NCKL), or Harita Nickel, reported solid performance up to the third quarter of 2025 with revenue reaching Rp22.40 trillion, an increase of 9.93% compared to the same period last year. Net profit attributable to the owners of the parent entity also rose by 33.24% to Rp6.45 trillion. This achievement reflects the company’s resilience amid global nickel industry dynamics and the success of its efficiency and operational optimization strategies on Obi Island, South Halmahera, North Maluku.
Harita Nickel’s strong performance was supported by the stable operations of its High Pressure Acid Leach (HPAL) and Rotary Kiln Electric Furnace (RKEF) facilities, as well as strategic steps to expand production capacity through the construction of a new smelter. Currently, the company’s third RKEF facility (KPS) has reached 91% completion for phase two and 44% for phase three. Once completed, the facility will be capable of producing up to 185,000 tons of nickel content in ferronickel per year, further strengthening Harita’s contribution to Indonesia’s nickel downstream industry.
Harita Nickel’s Head of Investor Relations, Lukito Gozali, stated that the combination of strong financial performance and the implementation of global sustainability standards demonstrates the company’s commitment to creating economic value while maintaining social and environmental balance. “Participation in the IRMA audit is an important step to ensure that all our business processes align with global standards and provide benefits to communities,” Lukito said in a written statement on Friday (October 31).
As part of its commitment to sustainable mining, Harita Nickel became the first company in Indonesia to undergo a full audit by the Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA), the world’s most comprehensive standard for assessing sustainability in the mining sector. The audit, which is currently under review, covers more than 30,000 employees and contractors across all operational chains, making it the largest workforce coverage in an IRMA audit globally.
Harita Nickel’s sustainability initiatives are also reflected in its clean energy projects, including the installation of a 40 MWp solar panel system on Obi Island. As of October 2025, the project’s construction progress has reached 38%, with installations spread across employee housing and production facility rooftops. The project aims to reduce carbon emissions while increasing energy efficiency across the company’s nickel industrial area. In addition, Harita Nickel operates an Integrated Waste Management Facility (TPST) in Kawasi Village, capable of processing 1.8 tons of waste per day into compost and recyclable materials.
The company’s social commitment was further recognized through the 2025 Subroto Awards presented by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) in the Education and Health categories. Harita Nickel received recognition for its “Community Learning House” and “Soligi Zero Stunting” programs implemented in its operational areas. Harita Nickel President Director, Roy Arman Arfandy, emphasized that the award is a tangible acknowledgment of the company’s contribution to the welfare of local communities around its mining sites. “We believe that true sustainability can only be achieved when the company and the community grow together,” he said. With a strong foundation of governance and deep social and environmental commitment, Harita Nickel continues to reinforce its role as a pioneer of sustainable nickel mining in Indonesia.
