Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – The Indonesian Furniture and Craft Industry Association (HIMKI) is optimistic that Indonesia’s furniture and craft exports will continue to grow, reaching five billion US dollars.
Promotional efforts are continuously being made to achieve this target, one of which is through the Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) 2025.
HIMKI Chairman Abdul Sobur stated that IFEX 2025 reflects the determination of furniture and craft industry players to showcase their love for Indonesia.
“We are confident that, at some point, local furniture industry exports can reach five billion US dollars, at least by the end of 2030. This is also HIMKI’s commitment, together with Dyandra Promosindo, to expand our market share so that we can compete in the global market,” he said at the opening of IFEX 2025 on Thursday (March 6, 2025).
IFEX 2025, organized by HIMKI in collaboration with PT Dyandra Promosindo, is one of Southeast Asia’s largest international furniture and craft exhibitions.
The event is held annually, and 2025 marks its 10th edition. This year’s exhibition will connect Indonesian businesses with more than 12,000 international buyers.
In the previous edition, IFEX attracted 13,370 visitors from 117 countries, including Australia, China, the United States, India, Bahrain, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and several European countries. IFEX 2024 recorded on-site transactions totaling 300 million US dollars.
President Director of Dyandra Promosindo, Daswar Marpaung, stated that IFEX 2025 will feature over 500 exhibitors showcasing 3,000 top-quality products made from premium Indonesian raw materials such as wood, bamboo, leather, and rattan.
IFEX 2025 is expected to open opportunities for Indonesian artisans to expand their markets. “We hope that IFEX 2025 will not only be a significant moment for national economic growth but also serve as an effective platform for local artisans to enhance the competitiveness of their products in the global market,” concluded Daswar. *
