Indonesia has committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 42% with international support, as part of its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) and the ambitious FOLU Net Sink 2030 target, where the forestry and other land use sector (FOLU) will become a net carbon sink by 2030.
To achieve this, international collaboration and diplomacy play a vital role. The Ministry of Environment and Forestry has developed FOREST-D (Foreign Forestry Emission Reduction Scoring Tool for Diplomacy), an innovative system designed to estimate and evaluate the potential emission reduction contributions from international cooperation programs in the forestry sector.
