Indonesian Embassy in Washington, D.C. Hosts “Garuda ACE” Session on Computer Science Research and Overseas Scholarship Opportunities

Enviro News Asia, Washington, D.C. — The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Washington, D.C. will host an online event titled “Garuda ACE: From Open Computer Science Research Training to Guidance for Securing Master’s and Doctoral Scholarships Abroad” on Thursday, January 8, 2026. The session will be held via Zoom and is open to students, researchers, and the general public interested in pursuing postgraduate studies overseas.

Ambassador of Indonesia to the United States, H.E. Indroyono Soesilo, is scheduled to deliver the opening remarks. The event will feature Prof. Haryadi Gunawi from the Department of Computer Science, University of Chicago, a distinguished Indonesian scholar known for his global contributions in the field of computer systems.

The program aims to introduce an open research training model in computer science while offering practical guidance on how to secure scholarships for master’s and doctoral programs at leading international universities. Participants will receive insights into application strategies, research preparation, and opportunities to build academic networks abroad.
