Enviro News Asia, Jakarta — Indonesia’s Ministry of Forestry has launched the latest version of the Conservation Area Partnership Information System (SIGMA KSDAE) to strengthen governance, transparency, and digital services for conservation forest partnerships across the country.
The upgraded platform was introduced during the 2026 Coordination Meeting on Planning and Partnership Management for Nature Reserves, Nature Conservation Areas, and Game Reserves. The initiative supports the government’s broader agenda under President Prabowo Subianto to accelerate digital transformation in public services and improve the ease of doing business, while advancing bureaucratic reform within the forestry sector.
The Ministry said collaboration remains essential for managing Indonesia’s conservation forests. Currently, 525 active partnership agreements are being implemented across 87 technical implementation units and regional offices, involving state-owned enterprises, regional government-owned companies, ministries, local governments, universities, non-governmental organizations, foundations, businesses, and community groups.
According to Director of Conservation Planning Ammy Nurwati, the upgraded SIGMA KSDAE integrates the entire partnership lifecycle into a single digital platform. The system covers new partnership applications, amendments, renewals, field assessments, ministerial approvals, agreement issuance, preparation of planning documents, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and partnership termination.
The new platform also enables partner organizations to monitor the progress of agreements in real time, providing greater transparency while supporting faster decision-making, stronger coordination, improved accountability, and timely implementation of partnership commitments.
The Ministry said the upgraded system reflects the digital transformation agenda of the Directorate General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Conservation (KSDAE) and is expected to improve the effectiveness, adaptability, collaboration, and accountability of conservation area management throughout Indonesia.
