Lestari Awards 2025: Government Promotes Green and Sustainable Business

Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – Indonesia’s Minister of Forestry, Raja Juli Antoni, attended the Lestari Awards 2025 organized by KG Media at Raffles Hotel, Jakarta. The awards aim to recognize companies and SMEs that consistently implement sustainability practices aligned with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

During the event, the Minister of Forestry personally presented awards in Awarding Session 4 – Class Large Enterprise for three main categories:

  1. Sustainable Ecosystems to PT Vale Indonesia Tbk,
  2. Renewable Energy to PT PLN (Persero), and
  3. Energy Efficiency to PT Pertamina International Shipping.

These categories are considered closely linked to the Ministry of Forestry’s mandate, covering sustainable ecosystem management, clean energy transition, and resource efficiency to reduce carbon emissions.

The Minister’s presence highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting cross-sector collaboration in preserving nature. According to Raja Juli Antoni, the business sector serves as a strategic partner in accelerating national green development targets.

“Sustainability is not solely the responsibility of the government. It also requires active participation from the business community to ensure its benefits reach society at large and future generations,” he stated.

Beyond the session attended by the Minister of Forestry, Lestari Awards 2025 also recognized achievements in other categories, including Waste Management, Responsible Consumption and Production, Innovative Partnership, Sustainable Supply Chain, Diversity & Inclusion, Good Health & Wellbeing, as well as Sustainable Products and Services.

Several state officials also attended to present awards, including the Minister of National Development Planning (Bappenas), the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, the Minister of Creative Economy, and representatives from the Ministry of Environment.

Through Lestari Awards 2025, it is expected that sustainability practices will continue to expand across the business sector, delivering tangible impacts for the environment, society, and national sustainable development. (*)
