Minister of Forestry Appoints Four Echelon I Officials at the Ministry of Forestry

Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni inaugurated four Senior High-Ranking Officials (Echelon I) of the Ministry of Forestry in Jakarta on Friday (March 21, 2025).

The appointed officials are:

  • Secretary General: Dr. Ir. Mahfudz, M.P
  • Inspector General: Police Inspector General Djoko Poerwanto
  • Director General of Sustainable Forest Management: Ir. Laksmi Wijayanti, M.CP
  • Expert Staff to the Minister of Forestry for Economy and International Trade: Ir. Dida Mighfar Ridha, M.Si

On this occasion, Minister Raja Juli emphasized that forestry development for the 2025–2029 period will focus on three main pillars: Food Reserve Forests, Energy Security, and Water Self-Sufficiency.

This concept includes increasing food production based on agroforestry, utilizing environmental services such as water and geothermal energy, and rehabilitating critical lands to ensure the sustainability of natural resources. “Development must not stop, forests must remain sustainable, and public welfare must be ensured,” Raja Juli asserted in his speech.

He also stressed the importance of balancing forest resource utilization with sustainability to ensure that development progresses without damaging forest ecosystems.

As part of the grand vision to support President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita, the Minister of Forestry underscored that the implementation of development programs must remain aligned with sustainability principles and forest conservation. “We must not fall into short-term economic interests that harm forests, but we must also ensure that forests provide real benefits for public welfare,” he stated.

To the newly appointed officials, the Minister of Forestry urged them to always be inspirational and innovative leaders in carrying out their duties. “Do not hesitate to make strategic decisions, develop new policies, and continuously innovate for the advancement of Indonesia’s forestry sector,” he added. **
