Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – Minister of Trade Budi Santoso received a visit from the Chairman of the Indonesian Furniture and Handicraft Industry Association (HIMKI), Abdul Sobur, at the Ministry of Trade office in Jakarta on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
The meeting discussed the Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) 2025, which will be held on March 6–9, 2025, at Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran, Jakarta.
The Minister of Trade stated that Indonesia ranked 19th globally as a furniture and handicraft supplier, with an export value reaching USD 2.46 billion in 2023 and an annual growth trend of 2.62% over the past five years (2019–2023).
He further encouraged furniture entrepreneurs to utilize trade representatives abroad to expand export markets, particularly through international exhibitions, trade missions, and business matching. Additionally, they can take advantage of existing trade agreements with partner countries.
On this occasion, the Minister of Trade was accompanied by the Director-General of National Export Development, Fajarini Puntodewi; Director of Domestic Product Marketing, Dewi Rokhayati; and Director of Export Development for Manufactured Products, Deden Muhammad F. S.
