President Prabowo Launches Indonesia–Singapore Renewable Energy Partnership

Enviro News Asia, Singapore – President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto and Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong jointly launched a major renewable energy initiative at the Renewable Energy Interconnectors Milestone Ceremony, held at Singapore’s Parliament House.

The event took place following a bilateral press statement during the annual Leaders’ Retreat and President Prabowo’s state visit to Singapore.

Marking a strategic milestone in sustainable energy collaboration, both leaders symbolically pressed a digital button to inaugurate the initiative. The program signifies a new chapter in cross-border cooperation, aiming to strengthen regional energy resilience and promote low-carbon development.

In his remarks, PM Lawrence Wong expressed strong optimism for the future of green economic cooperation between the two nations. He emphasized that this energy partnership further deepens the robust and diverse bilateral economic ties.

“Our work in the green economy strengthens our already strong and diverse economic relationship. Our trade and investment ties remain resilient,” said PM Wong, as quoted in the official statement by the Cabinet Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia.

The initiative reflects a shared commitment by Indonesia and Singapore to address climate change while creating new investment opportunities in cross-border electricity trade, low-carbon infrastructure, and sustainable industrial development.

President Prabowo was accompanied by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia and Head of SKK Migas Djoko Siswanto during the ceremony. (*)
