Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – The Ministry of Trade has officially set the Export Reference Price (HPE) for wood products, effective in April 2025. Based on this determination, there has been an increase in the HPE for several types of processed wood products.
“The HPE for wood products has increased for several types of wood, including veneer wood from plantation forests, processed wood with a cross-sectional area of 1,000—4,000 mm² from meranti, mixed forest, and other assortments from pine and gmelina plantation forests, balsa, and eucalyptus,” said the statement released by the Ministry of Trade on Friday (28/3/2025).
The HPE for Wood Products for April 2025 is regulated through the Minister of Trade’s Decree (Kepmendag) No. 446 of 2025 concerning Export Reference Prices and Reference Prices for Agricultural and Forestry Products Subject to Export Duty.
Although there are several types of wood products that have experienced an increase in HPE, this Kepmendag also establishes that there are products experiencing a decrease in HPE.
“Meanwhile, veneer wood from natural forests, wooden sheet for packing boxes, wood in chips or particles, chipwood, and processed wood with a cross-sectional area of 1,000—4,000 mm² from other assortments like ebony, teak, and plantation forest species such as acacia, sengon, rubber, and sungkai have decreased,” the statement said.
The HPE for Wood Products is used for calculating Export Duty, with rates as outlined in the Ministry of Finance Regulation No. 38 of 2024 on the Determination of Export Goods Subject to Export Duty and Export Duty Rates.
