Strengthening Internationalization, UPNVJ Partners with University of Nebraska Medical Center

Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) has once again strengthened its global collaboration network through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) from the United States. The signing took place on Friday, July 4, 2025, at UPNVJ’s Pondok Labu Campus.

According to UPNVJ’s official statement, this collaboration is a strategic step to enhance the development of education, research, and innovation in the health sector between the two institutions.

The event was attended by UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA., Comm., along with university leaders, faculty representatives, and the Office of International Affairs. The UNMC delegation was led by Prof. Joachim Voss, PhD, RN, ACRN, FAAN.

Through this MoU, UPNVJ and UNMC agreed to develop several strategic programs, including student and faculty exchanges, joint research in public health, medical simulation training, and curriculum development.

Additionally, the partnership includes joint scientific publications and the organization of international seminars.

UPNVJ Rector Anter Venus stated that the collaboration is part of UPNVJ’s commitment to promoting internationalization and improving academic quality. “We warmly welcome this partnership as a tangible form of UPNVJ’s internationalization efforts. UNMC is a highly potential partner, and we are confident that this collaboration will have a significant impact on strengthening academic and research quality,” said Prof. Venus.

In his remarks, Prof. Joachim Voss expressed appreciation for UPNVJ’s openness in building global partnerships.

He emphasized the importance of cross-border collaboration in addressing increasingly complex global health challenges. “We believe that through this partnership, we can create impactful innovations, education, research, and training that benefit both the Indonesian and global communities,” said Prof. Voss.

Some initial programs already planned include online public lectures by UNMC experts, healthcare worker training, and short-term student exchanges from UPNVJ to UNMC.

This collaboration is part of UPNVJ’s strategic effort to realize its vision of becoming a world-class university while remaining rooted in the values of national defense. (*)
