Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – The Forest Area Enforcement Task Force (Satgas PKH) has successfully met the government’s target of reclaiming 1 million hectares of forest before the 1446 H Eid al-Fitr holiday. These forests, spread across various regions of Indonesia, were previously controlled illegally by individuals and corporations.
The Head of the Forest Area Enforcement Task Force, Febrie Adriansyah, stated this during a press conference at the Attorney General’s Office Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Febrie, who also serves as the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes, expressed his appreciation for all parties involved in Satgas PKH for their synergy in enforcing forest area regulations.
As of March 23, 2025, Satgas PKH has successfully reclaimed 1,100,674 hectares of land out of the 1,177,194.34 hectares available. These lands are spread across 64 districts in nine provinces and were previously controlled by 369 companies.
According to Febrie, Satgas PKH has completed the first phase of land transfer, amounting to 221,868 hectares, on March 10, 2025. This land, previously controlled by PT Duta Palma Group, was transferred to the state-owned enterprise PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara (Persero).
Satgas PKH was established by President Prabowo Subianto through Presidential Regulation No. 5 of 2025 on January 21, 2025. In carrying out its duties, Febrie is assisted by three Vice Chairpersons: the Chief of the General Staff of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Head of the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri), and the Deputy for Investment at the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).
Members of Satgas PKH include representatives from the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Forestry, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Environment, and the Geospatial Information Agency.
