Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – Students from the Faculty of Computer Science at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) have developed a web-based automated immunization certification system.
This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency of administrative services at the Pondok Labu Community Health Center (Puskesmas) in South Jakarta.
The immunization certification system was designed to address administrative challenges at the Puskesmas, particularly in recording, issuing, and managing immunization certificates.
“With a web-based system, tasks that were previously handled manually can now be automated, saving time and reducing the potential for errors,” said Prof. Supriyanto, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science at UPNVJ, during a press briefing at the UPNVJ Rectorate Building on Wednesday (August 6, 2025).
Supriyanto explained that the system was developed following consultations with the Pondok Labu sub-district office and the local Puskesmas to identify community needs.
“The students designed the system based on direct feedback from the health center,” he said. Additionally, the students conducted outreach and demonstrations to ensure the system would be user-friendly for administrative staff.
This activity took place from July 4 to 26, 2025, as part of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program.
As part of the implementation, the students installed the system on computers in the Puskesmas administrative office, enabling immediate use.
The program concluded with an evaluation meeting involving the Head of the Pondok Labu Sub-district, who expressed appreciation for the students’ contributions.
“The sub-district head also provided input for future system development, ensuring long-term benefits,” Supriyanto added in his official statement.
The system is expected not only to streamline services at the Pondok Labu Puskesmas but also to serve as a model that can be adopted by other community health centers.
