UPNVJ Firmly Rejects Anarchism, Provocation, and Looting

Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ), as the Campus of State Defense, expresses its deep concern and serious attention to the current socio-political dynamics and national life in Indonesia. The situation has the potential to disrupt unity, peace, and the welfare of the Indonesian people.

In response, UPNVJ calls on all Indonesians to remain calm, exercise restraint, and uphold brotherhood and peace in social and national life. “UPNVJ rejects all forms of anarchism, provocation, looting, including the destruction of public facilities, and acts of violence that may harm society and threaten national unity,” said the Rector of UPNVJ, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, in an official statement on Monday (September 1, 2025).

On behalf of the UPNVJ academic community, Anter Venus emphasized support for fair, transparent, firm, and non-discriminatory law enforcement to maintain public trust and uphold the rule of law. He also encouraged the Government and the House of Representatives (DPR) to adopt policies and regulations that are empathetic and pro-people in order to realize social justice and public welfare.

“UPNVJ invites the entire academic community and the Indonesian people to express their aspirations peacefully, empathetically, honorably, and constructively, in line with the spirit of democracy,” added Anter Venus.

He also reaffirmed the commitment of UPNVJ as a “State Defense” campus to actively contribute through academic, moral, and social roles in safeguarding the unity, integrity, and sovereignty of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. “This statement is conveyed as UPNVJ’s moral concern and commitment in upholding national values, peace, and social justice,” said Anter Venus.
