Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) is expanding its global network through a strategic partnership with Jiangxi University of Water Resources and Electric Power (JXUWP), China. The visit of the JXUWP delegation, led by Vice President Lu Weifeng, to UPNVJ’s Pondok Labu Campus in Jakarta on Wednesday (September 17, 2025), marked an important milestone in advancing the internationalization of education and research.
The official meeting, held at Ruang Nusantara 1, was highlighted by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, M.Comm., and Lu Weifeng. The agreement covers student and faculty exchanges, joint research in civil engineering, water resources, and renewable energy, collaborative curriculum development, as well as the organization of international seminars, workshops, and conferences.
Prof. Anter Venus emphasized the significance of this step for strengthening UPNVJ’s educational ecosystem. “This partnership marks an important milestone in supporting inclusive, innovative, and globally minded education,” he said.
Echoing this sentiment, Lu Weifeng expressed optimism about the long-term collaboration. “We believe this partnership will bring great benefits, not only to both universities but also to the wider community,” he stated.
In addition to the MoU, both parties discussed broader collaboration plans, including joint degree programs for undergraduate and postgraduate students, joint research and publications, an Adjunct Professor program, and the organization of international conferences.
This partnership is a strategic step for UPNVJ to strengthen its position as a Kampus Bela Negara (Defenders of the Nation Campus) with a strong global presence. Through this collaboration, the academic quality and research contributions of both institutions are expected to improve, while also enhancing educational ties between Indonesia and China.
