UPNVJ Promotes Halal Certification and Digitalization of MSMEs in Bandung

Enviro News Asia, Bandung – The Faculty of Law at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (FH UPNVJ) has initiated a pentahelix collaboration to promote halal certification and digital transformation for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Culinary Tourism Village of Haurpancuh II, Coblong District, Bandung City.

Held on August 2, 2025, the event involved the West Java Provincial Office of Cooperatives and SMEs and the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP), along with local community groups.

The event, themed “Optimizing Business Income through Halal Certification and the GoHaur Application for the Digital Economy,” aimed to enhance MSME competitiveness through legal assistance and the introduction of digital platforms.

MSME participants received education on the process and benefits of halal certification and were trained in using the GoHaur app, a local platform designed to expand market access and promote culinary products digitally.

Abdul Kholiq, Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation at FH UPNVJ, explained that this cross-sector collaboration strengthens the legal standing and competitiveness of small businesses.

“The pentahelix partnership reflects the synergy among academia, government, business actors, communities, and media technology in building a sustainable halal ecosystem,” he said in an official statement in Bandung, Wednesday (August 6, 2025).

Through outreach, training, and on-site mentoring, MSME actors in Haurpancuh II have gained a better understanding of halal certification and the use of digital technology. This program is expected to serve as a model for MSME development in other regions, supporting inclusive and technology-based economic growth. (www.upnvj.ac.id)
