UPNVJ Rector Attends Connect Jakarta, Encourages Strategic Cross-Sector Collaboration

Enviro News Asia, Jakarta — The Rector of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ), Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, attended the launch of Connect Jakarta, organized by Bank Indonesia’s Jakarta Provincial Representative Office at Movenpick Hotel, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, May 8, 2025.

The event carried the theme “Strengthening Synergy and Collaboration for a Global Jakarta.”

Connect Jakarta is a cross-sector synergy program involving government, academia, businesses, communities, and mass media—forming part of a pentahelix collaboration aimed at supporting a competitive, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth in Jakarta.

This special occasion was also attended by the Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Rano Karno, who in his remarks, appreciated the ongoing cross-sector collaboration that has supported the city’s development.

He also expressed gratitude for the commitment and spirit of all stakeholders working together to shape Jakarta’s future.

Representing the academic sector within the pentahelix collaboration under Connect Jakarta, Prof. Venus emphasized the collaborative nature of the initiative, which brings together various sectors, including academia.

“It is worth noting that our collaboration with Bank Indonesia has been ongoing for quite some time—more than five years—and this event represents a strengthening and practical implementation of that existing partnership,” Venus stated in his official remarks.

Connect Jakarta is a strategic collaboration platform initiated by Bank Indonesia’s Jakarta office to enhance synergy among stakeholders in the capital city.

In the face of various global and regional economic challenges, Connect Jakarta serves as a meeting space and binding force for multi-sector commitment.

Its goal is to foster inclusive collaboration and respond to the diverse economic challenges facing Jakarta.

The program also acts as a platform for consolidation, reinforcing Jakarta’s role as a globally competitive city capable of improving the welfare of all its citizens.

Through Connect Jakarta, Bank Indonesia remains optimistic about the capital’s economic prospects.

Jakarta’s economic growth for this year is projected to range between 4.6% and 5.4%, with inflation expected to remain stable at 2.5±1%. *
