UPNVJ Rector Joins KSTI 2026 to Strengthen State Defense Campus’s Role in Research Commercialization

Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm, attended the 2026 Indonesian Science, Technology, and Industry Convention (KSTI 2026) at the Jakarta Convention Center on Friday, as the national forum opened by President Prabowo Subianto brought together government, universities, and industry to strengthen Indonesia’s development agenda through science, technology, research, and innovation.

KSTI 2026 provided universities with an important opportunity to ensure research and innovation extend beyond academic publications and are translated into practical solutions benefiting society and industry. The convention facilitated cross-sector dialogue on strategic issues including the economy and finance, agriculture, energy, downstream industrial development, maritime affairs and fisheries, food security, and education.

For UPNVJ, participation in the national forum aligns with the university’s strategic vision of strengthening academic excellence, expanding research collaboration, and enhancing institutional contributions to national development. The university positions research and innovation as integral components of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, continuing to strengthen its academic ecosystem so that lecturers, students, and researchers can produce research that benefits local communities while supporting Indonesia’s strategic sectors.

Rector Anter Venus said UPNVJ’s presence at KSTI 2026 reflects the university’s responsibility to contribute to the nation’s long-term development agenda, adding that higher education institutions today are expected not only to produce graduates but also to generate ideas, research, and innovations that address national challenges and create sustainable value.

The convention also reinforced that achieving national economic self-reliance requires strong collaboration across education, technology, industry, food security, energy, maritime development, and evidence-based public policy, in line with UPNVJ’s identity as a State Defense Campus committed to promoting both national resilience values and meaningful contributions to Indonesia’s global competitiveness.
