Enviro News Asia, Jakarta — Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) continues to expand its global network by exploring collaboration opportunities with 20 public universities in Malaysia through a meeting with representatives from the Embassy of Malaysia in Jakarta on Friday, October 3, 2025.
Held at the Nusantara 3 Meeting Room of UPNVJ, the discussion marked a strategic step in strengthening the university’s internationalization agenda, particularly in academic, faculty, student, and alumni development. The initiative aligns with UPNVJ’s vision to become a globally competitive institution.
The Malaysian Embassy delegation was led by Education Counselor Shafieza binti Mohd Fadzil, accompanied by Education Attaché Zulfadhli bin Hamzah, Embassy Staff Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah, and Promotion Executive Riska Paramita. From UPNVJ’s side, the meeting was facilitated by the Office of International Affairs (KUI), involving deans, vice deans, and representatives from LPMPP and LPPM.
The participation of various faculty and institutional representatives aimed to enable each unit to directly identify collaboration opportunities most relevant to UPNVJ’s internationalization targets.
In his presentation, Zulfadhli bin Hamzah outlined four key areas of potential cooperation between UPNVJ and Malaysian universities: faculty exchange, leadership development programs, and staff exchange. In the academic field, both sides discussed opportunities for double-degree programs, joint research, seminar collaborations, online learning initiatives, co-authored publications, academic credit recognition, and educational technology development.
In the student affairs sector, collaboration may include student exchanges, industrial internships, leadership training, cultural exchange, community social projects, and scholarship opportunities. For alumni relations, both sides proposed establishing a joint international alumni network.
Zulfadhli emphasized that this partnership should not only focus on academic activities but also expand the scope of edutourism, creating opportunities for cross-cultural learning and fostering stronger bilateral ties.
Through this initiative, UPNVJ reaffirms its commitment to advancing international cooperation and developing globally competitive human resources in line with Indonesia’s higher education development goals. (www.upnvj.ac.id)
