UPNVJ–Thaksin University Initiate New Cooperation in Southeast Asia

Enviro News Asia, Songkhla — Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) continues to broaden its global network. On Thursday, 13 November 2025, UPNVJ signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Thaksin University, Thailand—marking a strategic step to strengthen academic collaboration, research partnerships, and student–faculty mobility across Southeast Asia.

The signing was carried out by the Head of UPNVJ’s International Affairs Office, Dr. Bambang Susanto, MA, and Dr. Pittayatorm Kaewong, Dean of the International College of Thaksin University. The event took place during the Indonesia Education Fair (IEF) 2025 at the Parichat Auditorium, Thaksin University, Songkhla. Both parties described the LoI as an initial foundation for more comprehensive collaboration.

Through the document, the two universities agreed to focus cooperation on four key areas: joint academic program development, enhancement of higher education quality, student and faculty exchange, and collaborative research and other scientific activities. This agreement is considered strategic in expanding academic reach while strengthening educational connectivity between Indonesia and Thailand.

The LoI also paves the way for drafting a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) that will formalize the cooperation. These follow-up documents are targeted for completion within the next six months, enabling the partnership to be implemented in concrete terms.

The UPNVJ–Thaksin University collaboration reinforces UPNVJ’s commitment as a Kampus Bela Negara to advancing internationally standardized academic capacity. With this new partnership, UPNVJ’s global cooperation network continues to grow, now encompassing dozens of universities across various countries. (www.upnvj.ac.id)
