Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – March 6, 2025 – Tarumanagara University (Untar) Jakarta is showcasing a range of design innovations at the Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) 2025 in Jakarta. IFEX 2025 is organized by the Indonesian Furniture and Handicraft Industry Association (HIMKI) in collaboration with PT Dyandra Promosindo and is being held from March 6–9, 2025, at Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), Kemayoran, Jakarta.
At this event, Tarumanagara University presents various innovative works from lecturers and students of the Interior Design Program (DI) under the Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD). The showcased products are high-quality, rattan-based designs with a modern aesthetic that aligns with global market trends. This time, Untar is collaborating with CV Blotan Asian Art as its industry partner.
The Rector of Tarumanagara University, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., visited the Untar booth at IFEX 2025, which was officially opened by Deputy Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, Faisol Riza, on Thursday, March 7, 2025.
The Rector emphasized the importance of continuous collaboration between academia and industry to foster sustainable innovation. “I appreciate all students and lecturers who have actively participated in this exhibition since 2010 and have successfully showcased their work at one of the world’s largest furniture exhibitions. This participation proves that Tarumanagara University’s curriculum standards align with the needs of the global industry,” he stated during his visit.
Head of the Interior Design Program at FSRD Tarumanagara University, Dr. Maitri Widya Mutiara, S.Ds., M.M., who attended IFEX 2025, highlighted the crucial role of young generations in today’s furniture industry. She explained that the furniture and woodworking sector requires regeneration to continuously create innovative designs.
With the theme “Your Ultimate Furniture and Craft Destination,” IFEX 2025 is the largest business-to-business (B2B) exhibition in Indonesia’s furniture and craft sector. Tarumanagara University’s participation in this event reflects its commitment to developing research and practical design. Moreover, it provides an opportunity for students and lecturers to contribute directly to the local furniture and handicraft industry.
