Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – Indonesia’s Minister of Forestry, Raja Juli Antoni, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Forestry Sulaiman Umar Siddiq, attended a working meeting with the Regional Representative Council (DPD) of the Republic of Indonesia, chaired by Committee II Chairperson Badikenita BR Sitepu. The meeting reviewed the achievements of the 2025 program, budget realization, and the 2026 work plan. As of September 11, the Ministry of Forestry’s budget realization reached IDR 2.96 trillion, or 54.34% of the IDR 5.464 trillion allocation, marking an 11.2% increase compared to the previous year.

In the 2026 State Budget draft, the Ministry of Forestry received an allocation of IDR 6.039 trillion with a Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) target of IDR 7.311 trillion. Priority programs include forest protection, equitable forest tenure, forest utilization for food and energy, acceleration of the One Map Policy, and digitalization of forestry services.

The meeting resulted in a joint agreement, including: full support from the DPD for the Ministry’s programs in 2025–2026; synergy in the movement to plant one million trees simultaneously in October 2025; acceleration of social forestry, Agrarian Reform Object Land (TORA), and the enforcement of forest utilization permits. It also covered strengthening agroforestry, multi-forestry enterprises, downstream industry development, carbon trading, as well as the acceleration of the One Map Policy and the use of Decision Support Systems (DSS) for data-based governance.

The Minister of Forestry welcomed the agreement. “Collaboration with the DPD ensures that forestry policies have tangible impacts in the regions. Together, we safeguard forests for food, energy, water, and the sustainability of the nation,” he stated. (*)
