APP Distributes 1,000 Takjil with Eco-Friendly Packaging

Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – Embracing the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, APP Group distributed 1,000 takjil packaged using Foopak Greaseproof Paper, an eco-friendly food paper that is safe, halal, and plastic-free. The takjil, distributed in Central Jakarta, included light snacks and beverages, as well as the famous Pisang Goreng Madu Bu Nanik, known for its delicious taste.

Suhendra Wiriadinata, Director of APP Group, stated that this initiative is part of the company’s commitment to continuously introducing social initiatives aligned with sustainability values.

“Ramadan is a time to share kindness. Through this initiative, we want to show that giving can be done while still caring for the environment. That is why we use Foopak Greaseproof, a paper-based packaging that is safe, halal, and eco-friendly, as a tangible step to support plastic waste reduction,” said Suhendra.

Foopak Greaseproof Paper is a paper-based food packaging solution that is plastic-free, recyclable, and certified halal, FDA-approved, and ISEGA-certified, making it safe for direct food contact.

Lusiana Gomulia, Head of Specialty Paper at APP Group, emphasized the importance of collaborating with MSMEs to promote the use of more environmentally responsible packaging.

“Through this collaboration, we want to show that MSMEs, such as Pisang Goreng Madu Bu Nanik, can set an example in using eco-friendly packaging. The takjil distributed today is packaged using Foopak Greaseproof, the same packaging they use for their daily products. This is a concrete step in supporting a more environmentally conscious lifestyle,” Lusiana explained.

As an MSME entrepreneur, Bu Nanik, the owner of Pisang Goreng Madu Bu Nanik, expressed that maintaining product quality and environmental responsibility is part of her business values.

“We believe that every food product we sell must be safe, hygienic, and well-packaged. That’s why we switched to using Foopak Greaseproof last year. Through this initiative, we want to encourage people to enjoy takjil that is safe to consume while also helping protect the environment. Hopefully, this can inspire other MSMEs,” said Bu Nanik.

This initiative is also part of APP Group’s efforts to support the government’s target of reducing plastic waste in the ocean by 70% by 2025, as well as decreasing the use of single-use plastic bags.

By distributing 1,000 takjil packages in eco-friendly packaging, APP Group and Pisang Goreng Madu Bu Nanik hope to spread the spirit of sharing while raising public awareness about the importance of responsible food packaging.
