APP Group and Pisang Goreng Madu Bu Nanik Distribute 1,500 Eco-Friendly Ramadan Takjil Packages

Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – APP Group collaborated with local MSME brand Pisang Goreng Madu Bu Nanik to distribute 1,500 takjil packages during the holy month of Ramadan, using environmentally friendly food packaging made from Foopak Greaseproof paper.

The distribution took place around the Sinar Mas Land Thamrin Office Area in Jakarta and targeted online motorcycle taxi drivers, street vendors, and local residents passing by before the time to break the fast.

Each takjil package contained light food and drinks for iftar, including Pisang Goreng Madu Bu Nanik products wrapped in Foopak Greaseproof Paper—an eco-friendly food packaging material that is plastic-free, recyclable, halal-certified, and safe for direct food contact.

Director of APP Group Suhendra Wiriadinata said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to combining social engagement with environmental sustainability.

“Ramadan is a meaningful moment to strengthen the values of care and togetherness. Through this takjil-sharing activity, we want to show that the spirit of sharing can go hand in hand with efforts to protect the environment. The use of Foopak Greaseproof packaging is one of our concrete steps to help reduce plastic waste,” he said.

Foopak Greaseproof Paper is a paper-based food packaging solution that is plastic-free and recyclable, and it has obtained several international food safety certifications, including halal certification, FDA, and ISEGA standards, making it safe for direct food contact.

Meanwhile, Lusiana Gomulia, Head of Specialty Paper at APP Group, highlighted that collaboration with micro and small enterprises plays an important role in promoting environmentally responsible packaging solutions.

She explained that the takjil packages were wrapped using the same Foopak Greaseproof packaging already used by Pisang Goreng Madu Bu Nanik in its daily business operations.

“This collaboration shows that MSMEs can also play an important role in promoting more environmentally friendly packaging. We hope this initiative can inspire more businesses to adopt sustainable packaging solutions,” she said.

Owner of Pisang Goreng Madu Bu Nanik Bu Nanik added that product quality and environmental responsibility are essential elements of her business.

“Since using Foopak Greaseproof, the packaging has helped maintain product quality while being more environmentally friendly. Through this takjil-sharing activity, we hope people can enjoy safe food for breaking the fast while also supporting environmental protection efforts,” she said.

The initiative also contributes to Indonesia’s national target of reducing marine plastic waste by 70 percent, encouraging the shift away from single-use plastics toward more sustainable paper-based packaging alternatives.

By distributing 1,500 eco-friendly takjil packages, APP Group and Pisang Goreng Madu Bu Nanik aim to foster the spirit of sharing during Ramadan while raising public awareness about responsible food packaging. (*)
