Enviro News Asia, Jakarta — Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ) concluded its series of events commemorating its 48th Dies Natalis with a mass blood donation held on 30 November 2025. The activity, conducted at the Merce Building, Limo Campus, Depok, was made possible through a collaboration between the UPNVJ Indonesian Red Cross Volunteer Corps (KSR PMI) and the South Tangerang PMI.
Participant enthusiasm was evident from the moment registration opened. More than 60 individuals registered online, while the organizing committee aimed to reach a total of 100 donors throughout the day to help meet the national blood supply demand.
Arga Buntara, the Person in Charge of the Blood Donation Event, emphasized the importance of maintaining continuous cooperation with PMI South Tangerang. “UPNVJ has collaborated with PMI Tangsel for two consecutive years. We hope this activity runs smoothly, safely, and comfortably for all donors,” he said. He also highlighted that this humanitarian initiative strengthens the university’s engagement with the community while encouraging young people to contribute to social causes.
The blood donation session followed standard procedures—beginning with registration and completion of consent forms, identity verification, blood pressure checks, hemoglobin and blood type assessments, and a simple physical examination. Blood collection was carried out after donors washed their arms to ensure sterility.
Beyond being an act of solidarity, this event reflects the national defense values upheld by UPNVJ as a veteran-based university. Inter-institutional collaboration has become increasingly vital amid growing blood supply needs across the Greater Jakarta Area. PMI notes that regular blood donation not only saves lives but also offers health benefits to donors through complimentary health screenings.
With a spirit of social responsibility, UPNVJ closed its 48th Dies Natalis with a strong message: a small contribution from one person can become a great source of hope for many lives. (www.upnvj.ac.id)
