Enviro News Asia, Hebei — China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has allocated 30 million yuan (approximately US$4.4 million) from the central government budget to support emergency recovery efforts in Hebei Province following severe rainstorms and flooding.
The funding will be used primarily to restore damaged infrastructure, including roads, and repair public service facilities such as schools. The recovery program aims to help affected communities resume normal production and daily life as quickly as possible.
The NDRC said the financial support is part of the central government’s efforts to accelerate post-disaster reconstruction and strengthen the resilience of essential public infrastructure in the flood-affected province.
Meanwhile, China’s National Commission for Disaster Prevention, Reduction and Relief activated a Level IV disaster relief emergency response on Monday to coordinate relief operations and support local authorities in managing the aftermath of the flooding.
The emergency response is intended to facilitate disaster relief, recovery, and assistance for residents affected by the recent extreme weather in Hebei Province. (*)
