Indonesia Vice Forestry Minister Attends House Hearing on 2025 State Financial Report and Forestry Priorities

Enviro News Asia, Jakarta — Vice Forestry Minister Rohmat Marzuki represented Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni at a working meeting with Commission IV of Indonesia’s House of Representatives (DPR RI) in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The meeting, chaired by Deputy Commission IV Chair Alex Indra Lukman and attended by Commission IV Chair Siti Hediati Soeharto along with Deputy Chairs Ahmad Yohan and Abdul Kharis Almasyhari, reviewed the Ministry of Forestry’s 2025 Central Government Financial Report (LKPP) and discussed strategic measures to address current issues in the forestry sector.

Commission IV formally accepted the ministry’s explanation of the 2025 financial report and agreed to strengthen institutional performance through closer cooperation with the Ministry of Forestry.

The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to fully implement all findings and recommendations issued by Indonesia’s Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), while improving budget management and optimizing state revenue from the forestry sector to strengthen transparency and accountability.

The meeting also produced agreements on several strategic priorities, including enhancing forest and land fire prevention and mitigation, improving regulations and the issuance of carbon unit approvals, and strengthening law enforcement against illegal hunting of protected wildlife. Both sides also emphasized the need to accelerate policy implementation through more transparent and efficient governance.

During the meeting, Rohmat expressed appreciation for the oversight and constructive input provided by Commission IV.

“We appreciate the guidance, suggestions, and constructive criticism from Commission IV of the House of Representatives to improve forestry governance and bureaucratic management within the Ministry of Forestry,” Rohmat said.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni and Vice Forestry Minister Rohmat Marzuki to strengthen internal governance and maintain close cooperation with the legislature in support of sustainable forest management and public welfare. (*)
