Jakarta, December 1, 2024 – Indonesia has achieved a remarkable milestone on the international stage! The Ocean Voyager team from Sinarmas World Academy (SWA) proudly represented Indonesia and secured first place in the Future Innovator, Junior category at the prestigious 2024 World Robot Olympiad (WRO) International Final in Izmir, Turkey. Competing against over 560 top teams from more than 80 countries, the SWA team showcased the incredible potential of young Indonesian innovators on the global stage.
Scoring an impressive 165.75 points, the team, comprising Zhenxuan (Grade 9), Ruoyi (Grade 8), and Samarth (Grade 9), captivated the judges with their groundbreaking project, The Ocean Voyager. This remotely operated vehicle (ROV) was designed to support coral reef restoration by minimizing human presence underwater, thereby enhancing the efficiency and safety of marine conservation efforts.
Equipped with advanced camera technology, The Ocean Voyager enables real-time underwater environmental documentation, coral growth monitoring, and anomaly detection. The project aims to offer a sustainable solution to accelerate the recovery of marine ecosystems, addressing global challenges in environmental conservation.
