Pertamina NRE Activates RAFI 2026 Task Force to Ensure Clean Energy Supply During Ramadan and Eid

Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – Pertamina New & Renewable Energy (Pertamina NRE) has activated the Ramadan and Eid Task Force (Satgas RAFI) 2026 to ensure the stability and reliability of clean energy supply during the Ramadan period leading up to Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri.

The initiative aims to anticipate the surge in energy demand as community activities increase during Ramadan and the Eid holiday season.

Acting Corporate Secretary of Pertamina NRE, Rika Gresia Wahyudi, stated that the activation of the RAFI Task Force reflects the company’s commitment to maintaining a stable supply of clean energy while ensuring that renewable energy facilities operate optimally throughout the peak period.

“The activation of the RAFI Task Force is crucial to ensure that all clean energy assets and operations managed by Pertamina NRE continue to operate reliably and safely, thereby supporting the national electricity supply during Ramadan and Eid,” she said.

During the period, the RAFI Task Force will conduct intensive operational monitoring across the company’s portfolio of clean energy power plants, including geothermal and solar power plants as well as other low-carbon energy facilities. Monitoring will be carried out continuously for 24 hours by operational teams across various regions and through a centralized control system.

To support this effort, Pertamina NRE utilizes the New Renewable Energy Optimization and Visualization (NOVA) system, which enables real-time and integrated monitoring of operational assets from the company’s headquarters in Jakarta. The company is also strengthening personnel readiness and implementing emergency response mechanisms to coordinate with relevant stakeholders in handling potential emergencies or critical situations.

Currently, Pertamina NRE manages a clean energy portfolio with a total installed capacity of approximately 2.551 gigawatts (GW), covering solar power, geothermal energy, natural gas, and biogas-based power plants. A significant contribution comes from 261 Solar Power Plant (PLTS) units with a combined capacity of 55.69 megawatts (MW) spread across various operational areas.

Through its affiliate PT Jawa Satu Power, Pertamina NRE also operates a Gas and Steam Power Plant (PLTGU) with a capacity of 1,760 MW.

In the geothermal sector, subsidiary PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk manages six geothermal working areas located in Kamojang and Karaha (West Java), Ulubelu (Lampung), Lahendong (North Sulawesi), Lumut Balai (South Sumatra), and Sibayak (North Sumatra), with a combined capacity of 727.5 MW.

In addition, Pertamina NRE operates a Biogas Power Plant (PLTBg) with an installed capacity of 2.4 MW in the bioenergy sector.

Through the activation of the RAFI 2026 Task Force, Pertamina NRE, as part of Pertamina, reaffirms its commitment to supporting Indonesia’s national energy security by ensuring a reliable clean energy supply during Ramadan and Eid, when public activity and energy demand typically increase. (*)
