Pertamina’s Sustainable Innovation Event Generates Value Creation of up to IDR 9 Trillion

Enviro News Asia, Jakarta — PT Pertamina (Persero) has generated value creation of up to IDR 9 trillion through its innovation competition, the Annual Pertamina Quality Awards 2025 (APQA). The 2025 APQA successfully gathered 180 of the best innovation clusters from 1,239 employees (Perwira) within the Pertamina Group.

APQA is Pertamina’s annual innovation competition that brings together Pertamina innovators to propose improvements and innovations in their respective fields, which contribute to value creation and drive company-wide efficiency.

This annual event has been running for 15 years and has consistently delivered proven sustainable technologies, some of which have been recognized in similar international competitions.

The 2025 APQA carries the theme “Sustainable Innovation for Nusantara’s Energy Resilience.” The innovation programs developed are built on four key pillars: Continuous Improvement Program (CIP), System and Standardization Management (SSM), Knowledge Management Pertamina (KOMET), and Quality Management Assessment (QMA), covering all scopes within the Pertamina Group.

The effectiveness of the innovations and the value creation they generate serve as benchmarks for identifying the best innovations.

President Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero), Mochamad Iriawan, expressed his appreciation for Pertamina’s human capital, recognizing their ability to produce technological breakthroughs that support the company’s operations.

He emphasized that top-tier human resources and groundbreaking innovations have enabled Pertamina to not only survive but also grow into the company it is today.

“To all Pertamina Perwira, keep up your spirit for the Pertamina we love. A great sailor is one who often faces high waves and rough seas. You are great sailors among other sailors,” said Iriawan at the APQA 2025 Closing Ceremony held at Grha Pertamina, Jakarta, on Thursday (May 22).

In a speech delivered by M. Erry Sugiharto, Director of Human Resources at PT Pertamina (Persero), on behalf of President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri, it was stated that the innovations align with the Government’s Asta Cita aspirations, particularly in promoting energy self-sufficiency.

Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Pertamina (Persero), added that APQA was participated in by 180 clusters from across the Pertamina Group, including subholdings and subsidiaries.

Following the selection and judging process, PT Pertamina Hulu Energi was awarded Best of The Best for its innovation contribution to the upstream oil and gas sector.

“Pertamina hopes the innovations resulting from APQA will contribute to the development of the national energy industry and inspire continued efforts to seek new approaches and breakthroughs to enhance operational excellence and efficiency,” Fadjar explained.

As a leader in energy transition, Pertamina remains committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously advancing programs that directly contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

All of these efforts are in line with the implementation of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) principles across all Pertamina’s business lines and operations. *
