Enviro News Asia, Palangka Raya – PT Nusantara Raya Solusi (PT NRS), in collaboration with joint security forces, has intensified integrated patrols across its concession areas in Central Kalimantan as part of efforts to prevent forest and land fires (Karhutla) and combat illegal logging during the peak of the 2026 dry season.
The joint patrols involve personnel from the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA), the Forest Management Unit (KPH), the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Manggala Agni, local governments, and community representatives.
As part of the operation, patrol teams conducted routine monitoring of vulnerable areas, inspected concession boundaries, and installed boundary markers and public awareness signboards carrying messages to prevent forest and land fires and illegal logging. The initiative aims to strengthen early detection and encourage greater public participation in safeguarding forest areas.
According to PT NRS, the integrated patrols form part of the company’s broader commitment to sustainable forest management by promoting collaboration among government agencies, security institutions, local communities, and other stakeholders.
In addition to preventive patrols, PT NRS continues to implement community empowerment programs designed to improve local livelihoods. These initiatives include technical training, business mentoring, and production support to create sustainable economic opportunities for communities living around forest areas.
The company stated that combining environmental protection with community development is essential to maintaining forest sustainability while enhancing social welfare.
