Enviro News Asia, Bogor — The SUV Brotherhood Community (SUVBC) marked its 12th anniversary since its founding in 2013 by hosting the 2nd Flying Camp, a lively and meaningful celebration held at Tiara Camping Ground in Cisarua, Bogor.
Taking place from May 24–25, the event was attended by representatives from 52 SUV clubs from various regions of Indonesia, reflecting the growing solidarity and spirit of collaboration among SUV enthusiasts.
Among the participating clubs was the X-Trail Club Indonesia (XCI), which demonstrated a real commitment to environmental sustainability by actively participating in the 2nd Flying Camp.
Bagus Moker, Secretary General of SUV Brotherhood Community (SUVBC), stated that this 12-year milestone is not just a celebration but also a reflection that automotive communities bear social and ecological responsibilities.
“The presence of representatives from 52 SUV communities across Indonesia, including XCI, at the 12th Anniversary event reflects a strong sense of brotherhood blended with environmental consciousness,” explained Bagus Moker.
He also emphasized XCI’s symbolic contribution of ketapang tree seedlings as a concrete action. “This is a true example of impactful community synergy. I hope such collaboration becomes a new cultural norm in future automotive community gatherings,” Bagus added.
Trisia Megawati, Chair of the Advisory Board of XCI, explained that trees symbolize hope, growth, and sustainability. “By giving a tree as a symbolic gift, I hope the SUV Brotherhood Community continues to care for the environment through the sustainability initiatives it has already launched, such as the 2nd Flying Camp 2025,” Trisia said.
She also expressed hope that the synergy between SUVBC and XCI will continue to strengthen. “Collaboration should go beyond social, cultural, and economic activities, and also instill environmental values for a greener, more sustainable future,” Trisia emphasized.
As a gesture of appreciation and to share the joy, XCI also presented a door prize in the form of a television, which was warmly received by all SUV Brotherhood participants.
Interestingly, this year’s SUVBC anniversary celebration featured a different concept compared to previous years. This was explained by Jhony Gunawan, Chair of the 2nd Flying Camp Organizing Committee, who spearheaded the nature-themed event.
“We wanted to invite all SUV communities to return to the essence of togetherness in harmony with nature. Camping is not just a fun activity, but also a moment for reflection and gratitude for the freedom to explore. From this idea, we chose to celebrate the 12th anniversary in a more meaningful way—by reconnecting with nature and demonstrating environmental care,” said Jhony.
He added that the event also served as an informal educational platform for members, showing that automotive activities and nature conservation are not mutually exclusive.
In addition, the event featured various positive activities such as community discussions, traditional culinary treats and roasted goat, fireworks at night, and educational sessions on protecting local ecosystems during outdoor activities.
“We want to show that automotive communities are not just about vehicles and travel, but also about values, commitment, and concrete actions,” concluded Bagus Moker.
The 12th anniversary of the SUV Brotherhood Community marked a new milestone, not only solidifying its solidarity but also reinforcing the community’s identity as part of the solution to environmental, cultural, and social issues. *
