UPNVJ Achieves “Excellent” Cluster in SIMKATMAWA 2025

Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – Amid increasing competition among higher education institutions, the Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) has recorded a significant achievement. The university, located in Jakarta and Depok, officially earned the “Excellent” predicate in the 2025 Student Affairs Performance and Governance Information System (SIMKATMAWA), based on the verification of its 2024 student affairs performance documents.

For universities with more than 7,000 students—categorized under Cluster 1—the minimum threshold for the “Excellent” predicate is set at 1,000 points. UPNVJ not only surpassed this benchmark but also strengthened its position as one of the institutions with the most robust student affairs governance at the national level.

SIMKATMAWA evaluates three major pillars: Student Affairs Institutionalization, Independent Student Activities including recognition of non-competition achievements, and the university’s participation in programs organized by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa).

In all three aspects, UPNVJ’s 2024 performance report was deemed “comprehensive and well-verified.” The documentation of independent student activities—often a weak point for many universities—showed significant improvement.

This accomplishment reinforces UPNVJ’s commitment to strengthening its student affairs database. The university not only records activities but ensures that all processes are neatly documented and accessible for national evaluation purposes.

UPNVJ’s Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Dr. Ria Maria, described the “Excellent” predicate as the result of collective work grounded in a single principle: unwavering dedication to students.

“We mobilize every effort to support our students. Facilities are provided optimally, from preparation to the completion of their activities,” Ria stated on Wednesday, 26 November 2025.

She added that this achievement is important not only for formal assessment, but also as a reflection of the university’s direction in building a more measurable ecosystem for student achievements.

“Inclusive student affairs policies have resulted in tangible success. This strengthens UPNVJ’s position as an institution committed to human development,” she said.

With a score surpassing 1,000 points, UPNVJ now stands at the top tier of SIMKATMAWA’s national evaluation. The challenge, according to Ria, is to maintain consistent quality and documentation every year.

The university aims to establish the “Excellent” predicate as a new standard rather than a one-time accomplishment. Amid the evolving higher education landscape, which increasingly emphasizes data-based accountability, UPNVJ’s achievement demonstrates how strong student affairs governance can serve as a cornerstone of institutional reputation.
