Enviro News Asia, Jakarta — Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) has officially launched its Integrated Digital Services Ecosystem, marking a significant step in the university’s digital transformation efforts aimed at unifying services, data, users, and business processes into a single platform.
The soft launch, held at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Auditorium on July 17, was organized by UPNVJ’s Academic Support Unit for Information and Communication Technology (UPA TIK) under the theme “From Service Needs to an Integrated Digital Ecosystem.”
Head of UPA TIK, Asep Saeful Ridwan, said the initiative goes beyond introducing a new application and represents the foundation of a comprehensive digital ecosystem designed to overcome the fragmentation of previously disconnected digital services across the university.
“What we are launching today is not merely an application, but the foundation of an integrated digital services ecosystem. Our challenge is no longer developing standalone applications, but connecting all services so they operate as a unified system capable of delivering the best possible experience for the university community,” Asep said.
According to Asep, the ecosystem was developed through collaboration among university leaders, administrative units, faculties, and the Faculty of Computer Science, which played a significant role in system development and integration.
He emphasized that digital transformation should be driven by the real needs of users rather than technological trends. As a result, the ecosystem was designed to support students, lecturers, administrative staff, university units, and institutional leaders through more integrated and efficient digital services.
Development of the ecosystem began in early 2025 and included service requirement mapping, application inventory assessments, business process alignment, improvements in data governance, and enhancements to information technology infrastructure and cybersecurity.
UPA TIK has integrated various university systems to ensure data consistency and support seamless service delivery. The integration is expected to reduce duplicate data entry, accelerate administrative processes, and provide users with more accurate and reliable information.
Asep noted that digital transformation involves changing institutional work processes rather than simply adopting new technologies. He stressed the importance of integrating applications, data, users, and business processes to create faster, more transparent, efficient, and data-driven services.
The ecosystem is expected to provide tailored benefits for different user groups. Students will gain easier access to campus services, while lecturers and administrative staff will benefit from simplified workflows and administrative procedures. University units are expected to improve operational efficiency, while institutional leaders will have access to more accurate and up-to-date information to support strategic decision-making.
Asep also highlighted that successful digital transformation depends not only on technology but also on effective governance, high-quality data, strong cybersecurity measures, clear institutional policies, and the willingness of users to adapt to new ways of working.
The university plans to continue developing the ecosystem in line with its digital transformation roadmap. Future priorities include evaluating service quality, expanding system integration, strengthening information security, improving data quality and consistency, and enhancing the overall user experience.
UPNVJ views data as a strategic asset that supports service evaluation, performance measurement, and institutional planning. The integrated digital services ecosystem is expected to strengthen coordination among organizational units, eliminate redundant administrative processes, and promote evidence-based decision-making throughout the university.
