UPNVJ PKM Team Continues Mobile Clinic Services for Flood-Affected Communities in North Aceh

Enviro News Asia, North Aceh — Team 1 of the Disaster Emergency Response Community Service Program (PKM) of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ) continued its mobile clinic healthcare services for residents of Dusun Leubok Maneh, North Aceh Regency, on Friday.

The medical team, comprising doctors, nurses, and nutritionists, delivered structured healthcare services to communities affected by recent flooding. A total of 70 patients from various age groups received medical treatment during the activity. The most prevalent health issues identified were skin diseases affecting the feet, hands, and, in several cases, the entire body. These conditions were largely attributed to the limited availability of clean water in the area following the disaster. Other health complaints, including coughs, influenza, and hypertension, were also recorded among a smaller number of residents.

All patients received immediate and appropriate medical treatment, including the provision of medication and health education. The mobile clinic initiative enabled direct access to healthcare services in remote areas where infrastructure damage has restricted access to conventional medical facilities.

This activity marked a continuation of previous mobile clinic operations and underscored the sustained commitment of the UPNVJ Disaster Emergency Response PKM Team to addressing public health challenges in North Aceh Regency in the post-disaster period.

UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm, stated that collaboration with the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek) represents a strategic milestone in the university’s community service policy. He emphasized that the university continues to encourage active participation from its academic community to strengthen national resilience to disasters, accelerate recovery efforts, and support the development of more resilient communities.
