Enviro News Asia, Jakarta — Transparency is no longer just a buzzword at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ). At the 2025 Public Information Disclosure Awards organized by Indonesia’s Central Information Commission (KIP RI), UPNVJ earned the Informatif (Informative) designation and secured a place in the national top 10, outperforming 149 state universities assessed nationwide.
The award was presented on Monday, December 15, 2025, at the Birawa Assembly Hall, Hotel Bidakara, Jakarta. UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm, received the honor in person, accompanied by members of the university’s public information management team.
This achievement did not come overnight. UPNVJ attained the Informatif status after passing the verification of the Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) and a public test, as stipulated in KIP RI Decree No. 06/KEP/KIP/VIII/2025. The results were striking: a score of 97.75, placing UPNVJ 8th among 54 state universities awarded the Informatif status.
For Prof. Venus, public information transparency goes beyond meeting administrative requirements. He described transparency as the cornerstone of sound university governance.
“Being an informative institution is a necessity. Openness in providing information to the public about university policies and management is part of the service and accountability principles we uphold,” he said.
He emphasized that all SAQ submissions were based on real practices already implemented across the campus. Prof. Venus also expressed appreciation for the public relations and integrated services units, which he regards as the front line in ensuring information remains open, accessible, and reliable for the public.
This year’s public information disclosure evaluation involved 387 public bodies from various categories, including ministries, state institutions, regional governments, state-owned enterprises, political parties, and higher education institutions. Among hundreds of participants, UPNVJ stood out.
The Informatif designation further reinforces UPNVJ’s vision as a state-defense-oriented university that is transparent and responsive. For the university leadership, the achievement is a logical outcome of sustained efforts to build an integrated information system—while strengthening public trust amid growing demands for open and accountable higher education governance.
