Wang Yi: China Ready to Strengthen Green Economy and AI Cooperation with Denmark

Enviro News Asia, Copenhagen – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said China is ready to deepen cooperation with Denmark in emerging areas including the green economy, innovation, and artificial intelligence, while strengthening people-to-people exchanges to enhance bilateral friendship.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks during a meeting with Danish King Frederik X in Copenhagen on Friday.

Wang recalled the long-standing friendly exchanges between the Danish royal family and China, noting that the late Queen Margrethe II made two state visits to China during her reign and was the first incumbent foreign head of state to visit the Memorial Hall of the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre, which Wang described as demonstrating respect for history and a steadfast commitment to justice.

King Frederik X said Denmark and China share a long history of exchanges and a longstanding friendship between their peoples, with bilateral relations currently maintaining sound momentum marked by active economic and trade cooperation and close people-to-people ties. He said the Danish royal family stands ready to play an active role in carrying forward the traditional friendship between the two countries and promoting the further development of bilateral relations.

Wang also held talks with Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen during the visit. (*)
