Enviro News Asia, Jakarta — The Faculty of Computer Science (FIK) at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta commemorated its 31st anniversary by holding a series of academic and reflective events on Wednesday (6 May 2026) at the faculty building in Jakarta. The celebration was highlighted by the handover of the Faculty of Computer Science History Book to UPNVJ Rector Anter Venus and the official launch of FIK Fair 2026.
The history book symbolizes the faculty’s long journey in advancing higher education in computer science, information technology, and digital transformation. The publication documents the faculty’s development since its establishment, including academic achievements, research contributions, and community engagement initiatives carried out over the past three decades.
Meanwhile, the launch of FIK Fair 2026 marked the beginning of the faculty’s annual collaborative program involving academics, industry partners, communities, and the broader public. The event is designed as a platform for technological innovation, student creativity, professional networking, and the promotion of digital-based research and innovation.
In his remarks, Rector Anter Venus expressed appreciation for the Faculty of Computer Science’s contribution to the university’s development, particularly in preparing highly skilled human resources in the era of digital transformation.
“The 31-year journey of the Faculty of Computer Science reflects consistency and commitment in producing outstanding human resources in technology and digital fields. This history book is not merely documentation of the institution’s journey, but also a reflection of the spirit of innovation and dedication that must continue to be passed on to future generations,” he stated.
He added that rapid technological advancement and the rise of artificial intelligence require universities to remain adaptive, innovative, and responsive to the evolving needs of society and industry. According to him, the Faculty of Computer Science plays a strategic role in supporting the university’s vision of becoming an impactful and competitive institution.
Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science, Supriyanto, emphasized that the 31st anniversary serves as both a moment of reflection and a foundation for strengthening the faculty’s transformation into a nationally and globally competitive higher education institution.
“This anniversary is both a reflection of our journey and a stepping stone for continuous innovation. Through the handover of the faculty history book and the launch of FIK Fair 2026, we aim to strengthen our institutional identity, academic culture, and collaborative spirit in facing the challenges of the digital and artificial intelligence era,” he said.
