Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – Sinar Mas and APP Group participated in the Ramadan Bazaar organized by the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) in Jakarta.
During this event, APP Group donated 2,000 copies of the Quran and provided 4,000 liters of premium packaged cooking oil at special prices for the public and Ministry of Industry employees.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry Faisol Riza, Director General of Agro Industry at the Ministry of Industry Putu Juli Ardika, and other ministry officials.
Symbolically, the Quran donation was handed over by APP Group Director Suhendra Wiriadinata, along with Sinar Mas Managing Director Saleh Husin. These copies will be distributed to communities through mosques and educational institutions under the Ministry of Industry across Indonesia.
The donated Qurans were printed using Quran Paper (QPP), a high-quality specialty paper produced by PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper (IKPP) Tangerang, a business unit of APP Group.
QPP is certified halal by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) and is widely recognized as the preferred paper for Quran printing due to its durability and reading comfort. In addition to meeting domestic needs, QPP has also been exported to various countries, especially in the Middle East.
Deputy Minister of Industry Faisol Riza appreciated this initiative and encouraged more companies to participate.
“What Sinar Mas and APP Group have done is a great example of sharing and helping the community access essential goods at affordable prices. Moreover, the Quran donation is highly beneficial for those in need. We hope that more companies will contribute to such initiatives in the future,” said Faisol Riza on Tuesday (March 18, 2025).
APP Group Director Suhendra Wiriadinata emphasized that this program is part of the company’s contribution to supporting community needs, especially during Ramadan.
“Through this initiative, we aim to help people gain easier access to the Quran and essential goods at affordable prices. Additionally, we are committed to supporting the government in fulfilling the need for Qurans in Indonesia so that more Muslims can own high-quality Qurans,” said Suhendra.
APP Group’s Quran donation program has been running since 2008, distributing over 1.3 million copies to various regions, including remote areas, as well as to educational institutions and religious communities.
Meanwhile, Sinar Mas’ subsidized cooking oil program, launched in 2005, has distributed more than 30 million liters of cooking oil to the public. ***
