Enviro News Asia, Jakarta — The Business Law Undergraduate Program (S1 Hukum Bisnis) at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ), has been introduced to address the growing demand for specialized legal expertise in the business sector at both national and global levels. The new program aims to produce graduates with practical legal competence, adaptability to industry changes, and the capacity to contribute to strategic economic sectors.
Coordinator of the Business Law Program, Rianda Dirkareshza, S.H., M.H., stated on 13 February 2026 that the program forms part of the Faculty of Law’s commitment to delivering more focused and industry-relevant legal education. He explained that the curriculum has been designed to respond to increasingly complex legal challenges across various economic sectors.
The program emphasizes not only theoretical foundations but also practical understanding of business regulations, civil law, and legal dynamics related to modern economic activities. According to Rianda, while many legal professions already exist in Indonesia, UPNVJ’s Business Law program prioritizes specialization aligned with current industry needs, ensuring that students develop strong analytical skills and regulatory expertise.
Graduates of the program are expected to pursue diverse career paths, including becoming internationally oriented advocates, intellectual property consultants, corporate legal officers, law enforcement officials, as well as lecturers and legal researchers. The comprehensive understanding of business law also enables alumni to support corporate governance, creative industry development, and intellectual property protection—key components in today’s innovation-driven economy.
The Faculty of Law at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta aims to strengthen collaboration with stakeholders and continuously refine the curriculum to ensure relevance to future workforce demands. Through this initiative, the university seeks to produce competent, ethical, and nationally contributive legal professionals equipped to navigate the evolving business landscape.
