Enviro News Asia, Jakarta — Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ) used the momentum of the early days of the 2026 New Year to strengthen internal consolidation and reaffirm its commitment to improving institutional achievements. This was highlighted during a gathering and informal reception held at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Auditorium on Friday (January 2, 2026).
The event, attended by representatives of work units, lecturers, and educational staff, served as a forum to reflect on UPNVJ’s achievements throughout 2025 while aligning strategic steps to address the challenges of higher education in 2026. In addition to remarks from university leaders, the program also featured an open dialogue to gather aspirations from the academic community.
UPNVJ Vice Rector for Planning, General Affairs, and Finance, Prof. Dr. Ir. Netti Herawati, M.Si., expressed hope that last year’s accomplishments would serve as a foundation for better performance ahead.
“May 2025 become our stepping stone to move further forward in 2026. Let us face every challenge together,” she said.
UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, M.A., Comm., emphasized that the turn of the year is an important moment for reflection and collective planning. He highlighted several strategic achievements attained by UPNVJ in 2025, including receiving the Informatif (Informative) status for its management of the Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID).
In addition, UPNVJ won two Silver Medals at the Higher Education Public Relations Awards (Anugerah Humas Dikti) and secured second place in the Main Performance Indicators (IKU) ranking within the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, competing against 32 other public universities with public service agency status.
“These achievements should be a source of gratitude, but they must also motivate us to work even better,” Anter Venus said.
He added that institutional development continues through the addition of leading study programs, the establishment of the UPNVJ Community Territory (UCT) as a center for corporate social responsibility activities, and plans to build a teaching hospital in Pasar Kemis on a 7.2-hectare site.
Nevertheless, the Rector cautioned that future challenges lie ahead, ranging from changes in performance indicators to the demands of sustainable campus transformation. According to him, addressing these challenges will require collaboration and shared commitment.
The event concluded with an open dialogue session, during which a number of inputs and aspirations from staff were conveyed directly to university leaders for follow-up, particularly in efforts to improve service quality and governance at UPNVJ in the future. (*)
