Pertamina NRE’s Stake in CREC Delivers 43.4 Percent ROI, Opens Door to Regional Clean Energy Expansion

Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – Pertamina NRE’s participation as an investor in CREC (Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation) is not merely a strategic financial investment, but is also expected to expand collaboration with CREC as a strategic partner in strengthening Pertamina NRE’s existing investment portfolio while potentially enhancing the company’s competitive position in pursuing future high-value investment opportunities.

“The dividend distribution and the encouraging 43.4 percent return on investment (ROI) reflect an investment initiative executed with discipline, accountability, strong corporate governance, and sound business fundamentals to ensure sustainable value creation for all shareholders,” Eri said.

Looking ahead, Pertamina NRE will continue strengthening its value creation-oriented investment strategy through higher investment returns and enhanced clean energy business capabilities. The partnership with CREC not only generates economic benefits through increased valuation and dividend income, but also opens opportunities for renewable energy project development, knowledge transfer, and capability enhancement that will support the acceleration of the energy transition and strengthen Indonesia’s national energy security. The acquisition of a 20 percent stake in CREC represents one of Pertamina NRE’s strategic milestones in building a competitive renewable energy portfolio at the regional level.

The successful strategic investment has also received support from Danantara Investment Management, which views the deal as delivering not only financial value but also long-term strategic benefits in strengthening regional clean energy cooperation.

“We support Pertamina NRE’s investment initiative in CREC’s renewable energy business because it goes beyond value creation. In the long term, it offers strategic value through potential cross-selling opportunities between neighboring ASEAN countries, including exports of solar PV panels manufactured by Pertamina NRE’s subsidiaries, technology transfer, and the deployment of Indonesian talent in the rapidly growing renewable energy industry in the Philippines,” said Danantara Investment Management Chief Investment Officer Pandu Patria Sjahrir.
